Fahrenheit 451 essay

Fahrenheit 451 is a well written book in the time period it was written by Ray Bradbury. In 1953 Ray Bradbury wrote this book and had predicted some things of technology that would happen in this time period that we are now. For example he had predicted what he would call "ear seashells" which nowadays are Bluetooth earpieces. He also predicted what he would call "Parlor walls" which we know nowadays as flat screens televisions. To me it's mind blowing  how Bradbury predicted this 65 years ago.
Now in the book, the government controls the citizens on their ideas or how they think. Technology is a way on how the government gets to control its citizens. Books are basically illegal in this dystopian society. Books are basically illegal because it opens people minds to the world and they get more ideas. And the government doesn't want that from its citizens. Which is why television and technology is a way to distract their citizens. It disconnects them from knowledge, the ability to think for themselves or even wonder about things. Now the main character named Guy Montag is considered a bad person in this society because he wants to learn more things and questions about his culture or the society he's in. Which is why Montag places himself beyond the governments control. Books were a really important theme in this book because there is a person behind every book and it connects to a person on how they feel about something.
Montag is the main character and is the dynamic character in the story. He changes when he meets a girl named Clarisse. Clarisse had a lot of things that she wondered and was very curious. Clarisse asked Montag if he's happy being a fireman and asked how fireman actually are supposed to put out fires instead of starting them. When Clarisse asks Montag if he's happy he doesn't respond. From then on he decides and that he doesn't like burning books and decides to start reading them and he then wants to change the world. He then gets help from Faber who was an English professor. Faber gives Montag a "seashell"and gives him directions on what to do. Montag goes home and sees his wife Mildred and 2 of her friends, they were talking about TV shows and they were ignorant when Montag tries to talk to them about politics and Montag decides to read them a poem. One of her friends starts crying and the other gets mad at Montag, so after that Montag burns the book. After that Montag is at work and they get a call to burn down a house and Montag notices that its his own house. Since Faber was in Montag ear with the seashell he tells him to burn down his own house because he had books in there, so Montag did. After that Montags boss named Beatty tells him why he burnt down the house and explains to him that he is so disconnected to society just because he reads books, so Montag killed him with the flamethrower that he had and starts to run, as he's running he gets attacked by a mechanical hound (which is a robot dog type that's controlled by the government) and Montag kills it too with the flamethrower. He then runs and goes to a community of "hobos" they all liked hobos and made Montag a part of their community. They then hear that Montag was now dead, but they got the wrong guy. The city gets bombed and a lot of people died. Montag and his friends go back to the city to make a new and free society.
Bradbury uses his syntax and and tone as a way to keep the reader busy and keep reading, which is what it makes this book so great and astonishing.
